Role Description
Team Managers
The Hockey Team Manager plays a vital role in supporting coaches, players, and families by ensuring effective communication, organization, and coordination throughout the season. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a team-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of communication for families by providing weekly updates and important information regarding schedules, events, and upcoming activities.
- Upload and manage team rosters for tournaments and ensure rosters are properly entered into GameSheets prior to and throughout the season.
- Coordinate team events and activities, including team parties, outings, swag bags, and relationship-building with other teams (this may include “PIN” Trading with other Squirt teams in the state)
- Organize or delegate “First Goal” pucks and other player recognition items.
- Complete and submit District 9 (D9) award forms for player achievements such as Hat Tricks, Shutouts, and “Playmaker” awards. These forms must be submitted with the verified GameSheets to the D9 representative. (Awards Request Form)
- Maintain a centralized, accessible database for families that includes:
- Player and parent contact information
- Home game schedules
- Tournament details and hotel links
- Treasurer records to ensure transparency of team-related finances
- Schedule team photographs and coordinate logistics
- Organize parent volunteers for home games, including:
- Clock Operator
- GameSheets Operator
- Two Penalty Box Attendants
- Music Operator (optional)
- Plan and coordinate an end-of-season celebration, which may include recognition of hockey achievements, academic awards, and team or individual trophies.
- Safe Sport Trained
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for players and families
- Ensure updates from our MAHA board are communicated to families. (Tournaments, Apparel, etc)
