GENERAL PLAYER INFORMATION

  • Players attend your assigned placement session.
  • On the first placement day Parents must pick up their Calendars for fundraising and turn in their DIBS check before their skater can participate.  
  • At the first placement session, check in with the MAHA Registrar. They will give you a placement jersey and answer any questions.
  • NO NAME on the jersey or helmet.
  • Both socks should be the same color.
  • Wear all your standard hockey equipment, including mouth and neck guards.
  • Arrive at the rink half an hour early before each session.
  • If you are sick or injured, or otherwise unable to participate in placements, notify the Hockey Director as soon as possible.

PARENT INFORMATION

Parents are allowed to attend Day 1 of placements (timing). For days 2, 3, and 4 MAHA will be conducting closed placements. No parents, family, friends are able to attend and watch placements. The only ones allowed in the rink will be on ice helpers and placement evaluators. 

The Hockey Operations Director and those involved in the placement evaluations will not discuss or communicate any information to players or parents regarding a players ranking or grading during the placement process. General questions during the placement process should be addressed with the Hockey Operations Director.

Team selections will be posted the same night as the last placement session.

POST PLACEMENT PROCESS

After placements, a 48-hour cooling-off period applies, during which neither the parents nor players may initiate contact with coaches or MAHA Board members.

Player final ranking or score WILL NOT be shared with players/parents.  Evaluator’s comments will NOT be made available.

Decisions regarding assigning players after placements are final and not subject to grievance committee appeals.
