Squirts:
- Day 1: Players split into 3 groups based off a combination of Alphabetically by last name and some players getting moved around in an effort to simply even out the numbers of the groups. Skating timing.

10U:
- Day 1: Dependent upon the number of registered skaters. If only enough for 1 team, Day 1 will either consist of skating timing or small area competition games, 2x2, 3x3, 4x4 based on size of group.
12U:

The Hockey Development Committee believes that the combination of skating timing, small area competition drills, and full ice scrimmages is the best format to use in making team selections. This format will allow evaluators to watch players under many different on ice situations and allow the players to showcase their skill sets appropriately. Listed below are some of the important factors that will affect scoring:
Forward Position:

Goalie Position
Goalies will be evaluated on a blend of their fundamental skill, tactical approach, and character.
- Fundamental Skills: Skating/Mobility, Positional Play, Recovery, Position-Specific Movement, Save Selection, Rebound Control.
- Tactical Skills: Net Play, Traffic, Awareness, Rush Effectiveness, Coverage, Puck Handling.
- Character: Compete Level, Work Ethic, Body Language, Resiliency.
Scoring for All Levels
Evaluators will use an evaluation sheet for each session.
Players will be graded using a scale from 1-10 during the tryout sessions.
A+ =10, A =9, A- =8, B+ =7, B =6, B- =5, C+ =4, C =3, C- =2, D =1
The first day will be used to place players into groups for day 2. After day 2 evaluators will place players into groups again for day 3. After day 3 evaluators will place players into groups again for Day 4. The total scores of all the sessions will help guide the evaluators to determine where to place players. Evaluators will score players based on the following skill areas: skating skills, passing skills, stick handling skills, effort, attitude, team play, hockey IQ, checking skills (if applicable), and mobility.
Goalies will be scored by evaluators on the following areas: stickwork, glove work, positioning, control of rebounds, passing skills, puck control, hustle, effort, team play, attitude, hockey IQ, and mobility.
Decisions regarding players group assignments during placements and team assignments after placements are completed are not subject to grievance committee appeals.
